Legislation states that a candidates fingerprints are to be captured by a trained Certified Biometrics Officer. These fingerprints are legally required to be verified by using a digitally captured fingerprints using Afiswitch technology which verifies the electronically captured fingerprints against the South African Police Services (SAPS) database. FSA can assist you in obtaining a SAPS Police Clearance Certificate via simple process:

◦ Submission of SAPS 91 (A) Form must be completed, which can be done at your nearest police station

◦ A letter with the following information needs to be attached and submitted to us:

– Request for Police Clearance

– Reason for police clearance

– Full names and ID Number

◦ The original set of the fingerprints and completed SAPS 91 (A) Form completed

The SAPS 91(A) Form and official letter needs to be couriered or deliver for FSA offices.

SAPS 91(A) CRIMINAL CLEARANCE PROCEDURE:

Criminal checks can also be done on a SAPS 91(A) Form where the implementation of AFISWITCH may not be a good option to your organisation.

Companies using this option must follow a few simple steps:

  1. On a company letterheadcriminal checks, state the organisation name requesting Afiswitch to conduct a criminal check request.
  2. A completed SAPS 91 (A) Form, attached with a copy of the ID or passport document and FSA completed consent form.

All information including original set of fingerprints and documentation to be couriered or delivered to FSA offices.
